Surgical instruments might be scary to look at, but some of them can be very useful to have in your home. You are not supposed to use them for surgical interventions performed in your home setting, but medical instruments are made from materials of the highest quality and they can be used for many things around the house – here are some:
- Scissors and scalpels – surgical scissors, whether small or large, are made from medical-grade steel, which means that they can cut through almost any material and they will never become blunt. Surgical scissors are great to have in any household, they can be used for the precise cutting or threads, paper, even wires. Scalpels are also great to have for when you want to make very thin, very clean, very precise incisions;
- Grasping instruments – surgical forceps come in many sizes and types, with curved or straight tips. They are great for retrieving tiny objects from holes, such as tiny screws that fell into a plastic housing. Some types of forceps look similar to scissors without edges and they can be used in many DIY projects that require the precise placement of tiny objects on various surfaces;
- Dental instruments – some surgical tools used by dentists are also useful at home. Mouth mirrors, explorers and cotton forceps are all great for DIY projects that require precision.
