Hospitals today implement lots of measures to prevent the spreading of the novel coronavirus, the restrictions to visit hospital patients being among the most important ones of these measures. However, there are several ways for worried relatives to stay in touch with their loved ones in hospitals – here are some:
- Phone calls – if your relative has a cell phone (everyone does these days), calling your loved one every day is a great way to find out how your loved one feels. Try not to exaggerate with too many calls, though – your relative might need to rest a lot and might be examined frequently, so lots of phone calls can be disturbing;
- Keep in touch with the medical personnel – find out the phone number of the hospital department where your loved one is treated. Call the number once a day to inquire about your loved one’s condition and also leave your phone number with them to allow them to contact you if need be;
- Inquire about visiting regulations – some hospitals might forbid visits completely, while others might only restrict the time that relatives can spend in the hospital. Ask about the rules that apply in the case of your loved one. Many of the hospitals and medical offices are now well supplied by surgical instruments suppliers and have all the PPE that is needed to keep everyone safe.
